Mrs. Helena Marie Conover Oesterreich, age 90, a resident of 104 Lawson Road, Smallwood, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Britthaven of Washington.
No services are planned at this time.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Christine Oesterreich, 104 Lawson Road, Smallwood, Washington.
Mrs. Oesterreich was born in Cook County, Illinois on September 3, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Charles Leslie Conover and Mary Ann Forbes Conover. Mrs. Oesterreich worked as an administrative assistant at C.R. Gibson Publishing Company in Norwalk, CT for 30 years. She lived in Connecticut for 46 years before moving to North Carolina. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Norwalk.
On January 2, 1942, she married Earl Frederick Oesterreich, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Bryan and his wife, Christine of Washington; her daughter, Earlene Hackenmiller and life partner Larry Mascotti of Rochester, MN; and seven grandchildren, Suanne Balch, Jason Hackenmiller, Christopher Hackenmiller, Bill Sperry, Victoria Eisenhauer, Pamela Oesterreich, and Macie Oesterreich.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Oesterreich was preceded in death by her brother, Wilbur Conover.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 919 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60611.
