Mrs. Laura S. Foskey, 88, of 266 Warren Chapel Church Road, Chocowinity, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Warren Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Bishop Roger Hook officiating. Burial will follow in the Foskey family cemetery.
Mrs. Foskey was born in Beaufort County on May 7, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Isiah and Effie Moore Smaw. She was married to Henry Foskey Sr., who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, John Foskey of Greensboro, Isiah Foskey of Washington, D.C., and Melvin Foskey of the home; four daughters, Ava Ward of Salisbury, Md., Christine Gause of Washington, D.C., Evelyn Holmes of Port Tobacco, Md., and Arlene Brown of Greensboro; one sister, Jessie M. Howard of East Orange, N.J.; 24 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Henry Foskey Jr.
The family will receive friends at the home. A walk-in visitation will be held today from 1-7 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington.
