Mr. Ralph Richard Speller, 71, of 508 U.S. Highway 13 North, Windsor, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Siloam Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Cox and J.N. Baggett officiating. Burial will follow in the Speller family cemetery, Windsor.
Mr. Speller was born in Bertie County on Aug. 29, 1937. He was the son of the late William Hyman and Josephine Speller. He served in the National Guard. He was married to Elizabeth Leary Speller, who survives. He was a truck driver with Davenport Oil and worked as a boiler operator at Coulbourn Lumber.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Speller and Robbie Speller, both of Windsor; one sister, E. Lane Speller Kever of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Windsor and other times at the home of his son, Robbie Speller, 1328 Cedar Landing Road, Windsor.
