Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Blount Summers Little, 64, of 350 Hardison Road, Chocowinity, and formerly of 866 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in the Temple of Jesus Christ Church with Bishop James L. Woolard officiating. Burial will follow in Blount’s Cemetery.
Mrs. Little was born in Beaufort County on Feb. 15, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Blount Jr. and Willie B. Harvey Blount. She attended the former P.S. Jones High School. She was married to Sherman K.D. Little, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Blount of Chocowinity and Kelvin Summers of Washington; four stepdaughters, Barbara Little of Fayetteville, Eleanor Booker of Durham, Vanessa Baldwin of Salisbury, Md., and Debra Clemmons of Washington; one stepson, Sherman A. Little of Washington; five sisters, Nellie B. Harvey, Lina B. Harris and Velva Thompson, all of Chocowinity, Thelma H. Lawson of Grimesland and Delma B. Rogers of Greenville; one brother, the Rev. Samuel Blount III of Washington; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 866 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington.
A walk-in visitation will be held today from 1-7 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington.
