Mr. David Lee Caraway, age 63, a resident of 234 Chandler Road, Vanceboro, NC died Thursday January 22, 2009.
A graveside memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday January 25, 2009 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens of Washington officiated by Derik Davis.
Mr. Caraway was born on April 17, 1945 son of the late Clifford Harvey Caraway Sr. and the late Mable Marie Ivey Caraway. He graduated from Winterville High School in 1964 and worked as a Laboratory Technician for many years in New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Caraway is survived by a daughter; Laura Lee Austin and her husband Ney of Suffolk, VA, two sisters; Marie C. McRoy of Morehead City, NC and Joan C. Nicholson and husband Michael of Vanceboro, NC, a brother; William Albert Caraway and wife De Anna of Alabama and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Kellyann and Brittany all of Suffolk, VA.
Mr. Caraway was preceded in death by two brothers; Clifford Harvey Caraway Jr. and Wade Gerald Caraway.
Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Bethel # 28 team, 306 Highland Ave, Suffolk, VA 23234.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. Caraway’s sister, Joan C. Nicholson located at 160 Haddock Drive, Vanceboro, NC.
