Dorothea Johanna Wentink Bron, 91, of Wilmington passed away on January 30, 2009.
She was born on November 7, 1917 in Heemskerk, Holland to Dirk Wentink and Aaltje Ludeke.
Dorothea “Jo” is survived by five children, Dr. Jerry D. Bron and wife Linda, of Gastonia, NC, Dirk J. Bron and wife Jerry, of Clinton, SC, Jake Bron and wife Cindy, of Castle Hayne, NC, Johannes Bron and wife Sheila, also of Castle Hayne, NC and Alida Sawyer and husband Terry, Washington, NC; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Dorothea was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and was a volunteer with the Seaman Center of the Wilmington ports. She was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for 25 years.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Bethany Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
