Linda Paulette Hope, 59, of 1421 Tom Pepper Road, Creswell, passed away in the arms of an angel surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday evening, February 17, 2009, at Pungo District Hospital in Belhaven.
Born in Arkansas, March 14, 1949, she was the daughter of Allen John Lockley and the late Wanda Lee Wise Lockley. She was a former employee of the River Forest Manor. She was married to Bobby Ross Hope who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Bartley and husband, Mark of Creswell, Mary VanHorn of Creswell; her father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Lockley of Scranton; two brothers, David Lockley of Walnut Cove and Danny Lockley of Scranton; three sisters, Sue Kelly of Lutz, Florida, Lucille Berry of Scranton and Kay Ambrose of Creswell; grandchildren, Lacie Swain, Mark Bartley, Jr., Katie Furlough and Austin Deaver and a great-grandchild, Saylor Grace Swain.
In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Barney Thomas and Edward Lockley; sister, Brenda Pigg.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in the chapel of Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia. Pastor Allen Harmon, Glenn Brickhouse and Larry Woodley will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens in Plymouth.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Marion Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, N. C. 27889.
The family will receive friends at Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia Chapel from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday evening and other times at the home.
