Elder Aronius S. Cooper

Elder Aronius Selassie Cooper, 87, of 521 Wilson St., Plymouth, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Shiloh Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Elder Daniel Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Lee Cemetery.
Cooper was born in Washington County on March 2, 1921. He was the son of the late William Virgil Cooper and Mary Smith Cooper. He was an Army veteran. He was a pastor at Shiloh Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) for 42 years, secretary of the Washington/Norfolk District Assembly, member of the council board, board of ordination and general council board.
Survivors include one sister, Mary C. Nixon of Roper.
A wake will be held today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Shiloh Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ). A second viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
Arrangements are by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
