Mrs. Marian Louise Weitz, age 89, a former resident of 200 East 14th Street, Washington died Monday February 23, 2009 at Britthaven of Washington.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday February 26, 2009 at First Christian Church of Washington officiated by Dr. Michael Price. Entombment will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Daniel Swords, Taylor Oldham, Buddy Harris, Chuck Forehand, Donald Bunch and Don Edwards.
Mrs. Weitz was born in Racine, WI on August 14, 1919 daughter of the late Lloyd Jarosh and the late Mable Hansen Jarosh. A graduate of Washington Park High School in Racine, WI, she married David Weitz in June of 1944 who preceded her in death on November 9, 1995. Mrs. Weitz moved to Washington with Hamilton Beach in 1966. She was a member of First Christian Church of Washington, the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, the Keenagers club, First Christian Church ladies circle, Christian Woman’s Fellowship which she served as treasurer, Beaufort County Home Extension and the Beaufort County Senior Group.
Survivors include a daughter: Kathy Oldham and her husband Roy of Winterville; a son: L. David Weitz and his wife Kathy of Chocowinity; three grandchildren: Susan W. Cash of Chocowinity, Taylor Oldham of Greenville and Daniel Swords of Raleigh; two great grandchildren: Ashleigh Cash and Ryan Cash both of Chocowinity and two grand dogs: Kodak and Max. Mrs. Weitz was preceded in death by a sister: Juanita Littlejohn.
The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday February 25, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
