BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Mr. Vincent Levie Howard, 57, of 75 Cumberland Walk, Apartment No. 9F, Brooklyn, N.Y., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Funeral service for Mr. Howard will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at 3 p.m. at the Mitchell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 1000 Howell St., Greenville, N.C., with Bishop Paul Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Howard Family Cemetery, Ft. Barnwell, N.C.
Mr. Howard was born a native of Craven County, where he attended the public schools and graduated from Newbold High School in 1972. He made Brooklyn, N.Y. his home shortly after graduating high school, and worked diligently in construction as a truck driver until his health failed him.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Howard of the home; two stepdaughters, Vida Brown of the home and Robin Rice of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Malcolm Howard of Wallace, N.C.; two stepsons, Patrick Walden of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Dwayne Walden of Charleston, S.C.; a very close and dear friend, Mr. Joe Washington of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren and a host of other relatives, in-laws, and dear friends.
Viewing and visitation for Mr. Howard will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Mitchell’s Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville, N.C.
