Mr. Robert C. “Bob” Alligood, age 74, a resident of 1274 Hawkins Beach Rd., Washington, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at his home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be conducted by his minister and friend Jim Reid with music provided by Martha Robbins. Gary Alligood, Rod Gurganus, Tim Gurganus, Chad Alligood, David Elliott, DDS and Keenan Woolard will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Alligood was born in Beaufort County July 4, 1934 to the late Cecil and Beatrice Daniels Alligood. He was a 1952 graduate of Bath High School. A retired administrative manager in the construction industry, he was involved in various worldwide projects. He attended Woodard’s Pond Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Naomi Gurganus Alligood of the home; daughter Karen A. Thomas, MD, and husband Bill of Washington, NC, daughter, Toni A. Jennings and husband Carlisle of Hampstead, NC, daughter-in-law, Pat H. Alligood of York, PA, granddaughter, Katherine G. Thomas of Washington, NC, brother Gene Alligood and wife Doris and their daughter, Susan Alligood and son Gary Alligood of Washington, NC, sister-in-law, Claudia W. Alligood of Washington, NC and her son, Chad Alligood of Winterville, NC. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, Gregg T. Alligood and his brother, Larry D. Alligood.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home.
