Mr. Clement Augustus Stevens, 73, of 4715 New Hope Road, Raleigh, and St. Croix, Virgin Islands, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Cary Health Care and Rehab Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday in Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth, with Elder Benny Mackey officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Church cemetery.
Mr. Stevens was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands, on Sept. 13, 1935. He was the son of the late James Stevens and Edith Bryan. He was employed as a chief inspector with the U.S. Consumer Affairs department. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church (U.S. Virgin Islands), where he served as a deacon and a member of the Trojan Steel Band.
Survivors include five children, Mark, Debra, Pearl, Michelle and Michael; one sister, Maude King of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
