Mr. Randolph Foster “Rannie” Peaks, 75, of 2724 Ballard Road, Williamston, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with the Rev. Travis Wood and Dolan Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery.
Mr. Peaks was born in Martin County on Nov. 11, 1933. He was the son of the late Arthur and Grace Wynne Peaks. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked as a supervisor with the N.C. Department of Agriculture weights and measures division until his retirement. On June 12, 2004, he married Mary Alice Baker Peaks, who survives. He was a member of the Shrine Club, a volunteer with Martin General Hospital and he delivered Meals on Wheels with the Martin County Council on Aging. He was a member of West End Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Betty Jo Mizelle of Bear Grass; and two brothers, Jimmy Peaks and Phillip “Spooky” Peaks, both of Bear Grass.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
