Mr. James “Jamie” Henry Manning Jr., 34, of 306 S. Biggs St., Williamston, died Sunday, March 15, 2009.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Walker Funeral Home, Williamston, with pastor Johnny Barber and Jody O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Manning was born in Martin County on Feb. 23, 1975. He was the son of Denise Manning Baldwin of Stonewall and the late James Henry Manning Sr. He was licensed in environmental drilling and worked with RES &Co. He attended Shadow of the Cross Church, Jamesville.
Survivors include his stepfather, the Rev. Richard Baldwin of Stonewall; his stepmother, Teresa Scott of Williamston; his grandmother, Carrie Dell Jones of Williamston; three step brothers, Will Price and Shaun Price, both of Williamston, and Ricky Baldwin of Asheboro; and one step sister, Beth Cox of Greensboro.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Julia Everett Manning; his paternal grandfather, James O. “Blu” Manning and his maternal grandfather, W.D. Jones Sr.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-3 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Williamston, and other times at the home.
