Mr. Robert Barry Kreisher

Mr. Robert Barry Kreisher, loving husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully went to heaven on March 14, 2009. A Celebration of his Life was held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church of Washington.
Mr. Kreisher was born on August 20, 1935 to Clifford and Naomi Kreisher. On June 21, 1957 he married Nancy Churchill who survives. Also surviving are his children Robbie Kreisher and his wife Jean of Charlotte; Laurie Stocks and husband Bill of Hurricane, WV; Julie Prater and husband Mark of Wenatchee, WA; Alison Woolard and husband Les of Washington, NC; Mark Kreisher and wife DeeDee of Simpsonville, SC; and Jennifer Powell and husband Ken of Klamath Falls, OR; 14 grandchildren, Matthew and Phillip Kreisher; Megan and Kelly Stocks; Ashley Babst and husband Mark and Adam Prater; Jordan Pike and Will and Caleb Woolard; Heather and Addison Kreisher; and Whitney, Sarabeth and Morgan Powell; two great grandchildren, Luke Babst and Mathias Pike; a stepmother Dot Kreisher; a sister Sara Jane Gower and husband Charles and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Sharon Shaeffer and his grandson Noah Pike.
Barry was a Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Army from 1953 to 1966. Washington has been his home since 1968. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and participated in the Emmaus Walk in 1998. He loved music, computers, reading, being at the beach with his family and spending time with his dog Maggie.
Barry was loved dearly by all those who met him and he will live in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Marion L. Sheppard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
