Mrs. Betty Mobley Lilley, 99, of 1430 Wendell Modlin Road, Jamesville, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Branch Baptist Church with the Revs. Matthew Fahy, Paul Weaver and Mike Scott and the Rev. Dr. Wayne Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.
Mrs. Lilley was born in Martin County on Dec. 12, 1909. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Mozella Modlin Mobley. She was a retired farmer. She was a member of Cedar Branch Baptist Church, where she had been the oldest living member.
Survivors include two sons, John Lilley and Bill Lilley, both of Jamesville; one sister, Deslea Modlin of Jamesville; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Church, Robert and Garfield Mobley; one sister, Ella Jones and one great-granddaughter, Susan Roberson Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jamesville Rescue Squad or to Susan’s Kids, P.O. Box 400, Jamesville, NC 27846.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Cedar Branch Baptist Church.
