Mr. Lester Plum Woolard, age 86, a resident of 2821 Slatestone Road, Washington, NC died Saturday March 21, 2009 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday March 29, 2009 at Rosemary Church of Christ officiated by Mike Caton.
Mr. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on October 18, 1922 son of the late Julius L. Woolard and the late Lucy Elizabeth Woolard. He married the former Elsie E. Lilley on February 17, 1943 who preceded him in death on February 21, 2003. He was a farmer and a member of Rosemary Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter: Reita Manning and her husband Ray of Washington; a son: Carl Woolard and his wife Ann of Washington; a sister: Hilda W. Butler of Richmond, VA; three grandchildren: Wendy Paul and her husband John, Lisa Waters and her husband Tim and Chris Manning and his wife Jessica and two great grandchildren: Latham Waters and Anderson Paul. Mr. Woolard was preceded in death by a daughter: Leita Mae Woolard; a sister: Mildred Lilley and a brother: Harvey Woolard.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church and at other times at the home of Reita and Ray Manning located at 2821 Slatestone Rd., Washington, NC.
