Mrs. Sarah Grimes White, 84, of 2192 Spring Green Road, Williamston, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Martin General Hospital in Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with the Revs. Jason Lineberger and Frank Carmody officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. White was born in Martin County on Aug. 18, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Alonza and Laura Forbes Grimes. On March 7, 1945, she married Slade R. White, who survives. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Everetts Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara W. Hardison of Williamston; one son, Donnie White of Williamston; two sisters, Sue Taylor and Helen Jones, both of Williamston; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
