Pastor Wade Patrick, 74, of 97 Folly Rd., Plymouth, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009, at New Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Harry White Jr. officiating and Rev. James W. Harris delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
Pastor Patrick was born on Sept. 7, 1934 in Washington County. He was the son of the late Will Patrick and Lucy Wynn Patrick. He was the minister of First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist, a member of the Roanoke Missionary Baptist Association and a retired employee of Weyerhaeuser.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Lee Alexander Patrick of the home; two sons: Wade Patrick, Jr., Raleigh, Kendall Patrick, Greenville; two daughters: Rosa Edward, Charlotte, Dollean Alexander, Plymouth; brother, Matthew Patrick, Mount Vernon, NY; three sisters, Alberta Patrick, Mount Vernon, NY, Beria Wright, Plymouth, Blanche Odom, Mobile, AL; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church and other times at the home.
