CHESAPEAKE — Edward Earl Reason, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, April 6, 2009. He was a native of Plymouth, NC and was a son of the late William and Lena Reason. He retired after 20 years of service with the Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Distribution, Norfolk, VA. Mr. Reason was a member of Good News Baptist Church, taught Friendship Sunday School class and was an ordained minister.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Joyce E. Reason; a daughter, Mildred Sherrington and husband Richard of Wheatfield, IN; three sisters, Mildred Campbell, Mary Lou Dew and Carol Sawyer, all of Plymouth, NC; three brothers, John Reason of Washington, NC, Robert Reason of Porter, TX, and Dexter Reason of Washington, NC; and three grandchildren, Cori Tillema and husband Paul of Wheatfield, IN, Becki Harwood of York, PA and Kara Sherrington.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Good News Baptist Church by the Dr. Walt Coles and Pastor David Mros. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Missionary Fund at Good News Baptist Church.
