Mrs. Mildred Wright Etheridge, 79, of 1935 Hwy. 158, Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Golden Living Center, Greenville, N.C.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Hockaday Funeral &Cremation Service, Roanoke Rapids, with the Revs. Rick Rogers, Jim Loftis and Keith Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Etheridge was the daughter of the late Rufus and Mildred Wright. She was married to J.V. Etheridge, who preceded her in death. She was a sales clerk with Kroger and Peebles Department Store. She loved to work in the yard and in the garden. Mrs. Etheridge was a charter member of Roanoke Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roanoke Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 356, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
Survivors include sons: Tim Etheridge (Vicki) of Greenville, N.C., and Donald Etheridge of Roanoke Rapids; sister: Barbara Jean Owens of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren: Randall, Kristen and Buck.
Arrangements are under the care of Hockaday Funeral Home.
