Mr. Richard Bryan Ward, age 61, a resident of 1680 Haw Branch Rd., Chocowinity, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at his home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Downs Cemetery, 1683 Haw Branch Rd., Chocowinity and will be conducted by Pastor David Linton.
Mr. Ward was born on June 11, 1947 in Beaufort County to the late Marshall and Maude Bright Ward. He was a graduate of Chocowinity High School and formerly owned and operated Pre-Owned Housing of Washington.
Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Tess Woolard of Chocowinity; two sons, Marshall Todd Ward of New Mexico, Marcus Brian Ward and wife Pamela of Chocowinity; one brother, Donald Ward of Chocowinity; four sisters, Mary Jean Hutto of Texas, Norleen Brinson of Washington, Lucille Cochran of Tennessee, Nelda Newman of Chocowinity; ten grandchildren, Andy Windley, Justin Windley, Lee Wayne Chandler, Jeffrey Ward, Jordan Rose, Jerrett Ward, Rayn Ward, Lars Ward, Jon Michael Millaway and Ammythee Ward. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Dustin Ward and one sister, Linda Cochran.
The family will receive friends at the home of Nelda Newman, 1683 Haw Branch Rd., Chocowinity, NC 27827 prior to the service.
