Southside High School was dismissed today at 1:30 p.m. because of a bomb threat, said Beaufort County Schools spokeswoman Sarah Hodges.
The building was evacuated, and students and staff awaited dismissal outside, she said. Parents were alerted by the schools' automated phone system before students were sent home, she said.
