Washington, NC — Mrs. Phyllis Hainley Baird, age 75, a resident of 119 Dogwood Trail, Washington, passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 at her home. 
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, June 16, 2009 with Minister Jim Reid officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until the service hour, Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in the Chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC.
Mrs. Baird was born April 29, 1934 in Altoona, PA to George Nelson and Myrtle McGarvey Hainley. On December 5, 1953 Phyllis married Donald E. Baird who survives. She worked for the Sylvania Corporation until her retirement in 1977. Phyllis and Don moved to Washington in 1980. She was a member of Eastern Star, Past Worthy Matron and attended Woodard’s Pond Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, Phyllis is survived by one son, Kevin Eugene Baird and wife Brenda of Washington; three daughters, Michele Baird Cowell and husband Mark of Raleigh, Melissa Baird Jackson and husband Charles of Washington, and Tracy Baird Grant and husband William of Washington; 12 grandchildren, Paul and Jamie Baird Keel, Brandi Baird, Kevin Baird, Jr., Christopher and Jennifer Cowell Berry, Andrew and Emily Cowell Wilkenson, Ryan and Erin Cowell Harris, George and Rachel Jackson Cosentino, Samantha Jackson, Mary Elizabeth Jackson, Curtis Owen Grant, Michele Catherine Grant and Jessica Dawn Grant; and four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Lockamy, Lauren Jean Cosentino, Noah Allen Cosentino and Owen Christopher Berry.
