Vionona Lee Griffin Jones, 95, a native of Pantego, NC, while residing in Tampa, Florida received a heavenly call on June 14, 2009 at 4:30 a.m. informing her that the time had arrived for a banquet feast in her honor to be celebrated and she needed to go home to be with her Creator. This was the moment that she had longed for; the day that she had been preparing for most of her life. She peacefully answered the call.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her two daughters, Alma Louise Sutton and Ethel Ree Campbell of Tampa, Florida; one brother, Talmon Griffin of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one granddaughter and five grandsons; three son-in-laws; sixteen great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
