Mr. Clinton Lyverne Dale, age 77, a resident of 53 Edgewood Drive, Chocowinity, NC died Friday June 19, 2009 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday June 24, 2009 at Emmanuel Free will Baptist Church officiated by Rev. James Greene.
Mr. Dale was born in Beaufort County on November 27, 1931, son of the late Nat Donald Dale and the late Stella Nelson Dale. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and continued his service for a total of twenty years. He married the former Iris Evelyn Setzer who preceded him in death on June 14, 2003. He was a member of Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his friend and companion: Bonnie Ray of Chocowinity; two sons: Jesse Roy Dale and his wife Debra of Cockeysville, MD and Johnny Ray Dale and his wife Nicole of Chesapeake, VA; two daughters: Iris Elaine Collins and her husband Roger of VA. Beach, VA and Dorthy Dorraine McCullough and her husband Jeff of Va. Beach, VA; nine grandchildren: Shannon, Teresa, Michelle, Tara, Hunter, Jessica, Joe, Angel and Angelica; nine great-grandchildren: Graci, Alexandra, Samantha, Dayla, Anthony, Leo, Joseph, Jr., Wyatt and Endiigo; four stepchildren: Evelyn, Karen, C-Ray and Mike; three stepgrandchildren: Jamie, Megan and Nick and one stepgreat-grandchild: Louisa. Mr. Dale was preceded in death by all his brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday June 21, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home of Bonnie Ray located at 53 Edgewood Drive, Chocowinity, NC .
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 48, 3247 U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington, NC 27889.
