Ms. Irene Jones Vick, age 83, a former resident of River Road, Washington, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Martin General Hospital.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be conducted by Derik Davis.
Ms. Vick was born in Craven County on June 9, 1926 to the late George and Sina Rowe Jones. She worked for several farms, Hamilton Beach and McCotters Marina for several years.
Survivors include one daughter: Carol Jean Keech of Washington, one son: George Vick of Washington, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister: Louise Fornes and one brother: Ottis Jones.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Elizabeth Perry, 226 Forest Heights Rd., Washington, NC 27889.
