Mrs. Willie Mae Downing, 80, of 1058 Hortontown Rd., Roper, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Plumblee Nursing Center.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at St. Luke’s/St. Anne’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Joseph Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Memorial cemetery.
Mrs. Downing was born June 19, 1929 in Washington County. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Downing and Bertha Pittman Downing. She was a member of St. Luke’s/St. Anne’s Episcopal Church and a retired dietary employee at Washington County Hospital.
Survivors include her son, William Downing (Janet), Baltimore, MD.; sister, Annie Ruth Clark, Roper; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Toodle’s Funeral Home.
Arrangements are by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
