WILLIAMSTON — Six champions were crowned during Sunday’s ENC State Babe Ruth Softball Tournament.
The week-long tournament concluded with the championship games at Godwin-Coppage Park.
Each team that competed in the championship games qualified for the southeast regionals in Varina, Va.
Pitt County came out of the loser’s bracket to win the 18U championship, knocking off Williamston 1-0 in 9 innings and 4-3 in the decisive game.
Henderson-Vance also came out of the loser’s bracket to win the 16U title. The team beat Pitt County 1-0 and 3-0 to earn the championship.
Pitt County posted an 8-0 nod over Pamlico to win the 14U title.
Kinston/Lenoir won the 12U championship thanks to a 3-0 win over Pitt County.
Johnston County downed Pitt County 4-3 to win the 10U title.
Camden held off Johnston County 13-12 to win the 8U championship.
Washington’s 8U team went 1-2 in the tournament.
Washington’s 10U All-stars were 2-2.
The 12U Washington squad finished 3-2.
The 14U Washington All-Stars were 0-2.
Washington’s 18U team went 1-2.
Chocowinity’s 14U and 16U All-Star teams both went 0-2.
Williamston’s 8U team was 1-2, the 10U team was 0-2, the 12U squad went 0-2, the 14U All-Stars were 3-2 and the 18U team was 2-2.
