Ms. Minnie Ann Watson, age 67, a resident of 52 Shady Lane, Washington died Tuesday evening July 21, 2009 at Britthaven of Washington.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday July 25, 2009 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral in Washington officiated by Pastor James Greene.
Ms. Watson was born in Beaufort County on April 13, 1942, daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Watson and Lucy Elizabeth Garris Watson. She was a 1962 graduate of Bath High School. Ms. Watson was retired manager of a local laundromat service.
Ms. Watson is survived by two sisters: Jo Watson of Chocowinity and Brenda Godley and husband, Ronald “Pee Wee” of Washington; two brothers: William Watson and wife, Sandra of Pinetown and Franklin R. Watson and wife, Viva of Washington. She is also survived by “numerous nieces and nephews that were her children.” In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters: Anglet Asby and Betty Jean Watson and her brothers: Theodore Watson, Jr., Lindsey Watson and Willie Watson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
The family will receive friends at the home of her brother, Franklin Watson, located at 4753 Cherry Road, Washington and following the service at Paul Funeral Home in Washington.
