Hatteras Brooks, a standout sophomore pitcher at Washington High School, was recently selected to participate in the Pirate City World Series, according to World Series sponsor Baseball Factory.
The Pirate City World Series is a national event featuring the country’s top high school players. The event takes place at Pirate City, the spring training home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, where players get the opportunity to eat, sleep and train in the same facilities as the professionals. Hatteras’s strong performance at an Under Armour National Tryout event in Rocky Mount earned him a place on the Baseball Factory invite-only team.
The national event will take place from July 31 through August 4 in Bradenton, Fla.
