Wilbert Lee “Bobby” Tripp of Landover, Maryland and formerly of Chocowinity, N.C. died on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Wilbert was the oldest son of the late Richard and Rosa Williams Tripp. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Wilkinson Tripp, a beloved daughter Wykesha Tripp of the home, one sister Mary Tripp Young (Joseph) of Oxen Hill, Maryland, six brothers Richard Tripp (Valerie) of Forest Heights, Maryland, Thurman Tripp (Pat) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Melvin Tripp (Mary) and Archie Tripp of Chocowinity, N.C., Wali Saleem (Yvonne) and Henry “Bill” Tripp (Gretta) of Washington, N.C. He also is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12 with viewing at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. at Solid Rock Full Gospel Baptist Church, 7711 Walker Mill Drive, Capital Heights, Maryland. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Hodges &Edwards Funeral Home, 3910 Suitland Road, Suitland, Maryland.
Local arrangements are by Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 West Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Washington.
