Linda Bright Dixon, age 61, a resident of 378 Tyler Street, Washington, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, August 31, 2009 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Steve Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Christopher Bright, Eddie Dutton, Louis Edwards, Bryan Lilley, Danny Moody, and Joe Stringer will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC.
Ms. Dixon was born in Beaufort County on June 19, 1948 to Irving Theodore and Thelma Louise Hawkins Bright who preceded her in death. Linda was a member of First Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy D. Stringer and husband Joe and Amy D. Moody both of Washington; one sister, Darlene B. Dutton and husband Eddie of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Gary Bright and wife Sondra of Chocowinity and Greg Bright and wife Amy of Louisburg, NC; three nieces, Christina B. Lilley and husband Bryan of Washington, Courtney Dutton of Carrboro and Caroline Dutton of Anderson, SC; two nephews, Christopher Bright of Chocowinity and Matthew Bright of Louisburg; and four grandchildren, Hillary and Haley Stringer and Zack and John Moody all of Washington.
