Mr. James William “Billy” Morgan, 82, of 318 Railroad St., Roper, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at Washington County Hospital.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Elder Stanley Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial cemetery.
Mr. Morgan was born on June 23, 1927 in Hyde County. He was the son of the late McKinley Morgan and Mary Jane Morris Morgan. He was a member of Spring Green Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ). He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, a retired High School teacher, a Drivers Education instructor and a part-time driver with Toodle’s Funeral Home.
Survivors include his son: William R. Morgan (Camilla) of the home; sister: Etta M. Barnes, Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Toodle’s Funeral Home and other times at the home.
