Mrs. Martha M. Bouchard

Mrs. Martha Lou McCoy Bouchard, age 63, a resident of 108 Lawson Rd., Washington, died Monday, November 2, 2009 at her home.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Mother of Mercy Catholic Church and will be conducted by Father Arturo Cabra.
Mrs. Bouchard was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania on June 5, 1946 to the late Peter and Dorothea Bowler McCoy. She was a 1964 graduate of Central Christian High School in Bradford, PA and was also a 1992 graduate of North Carolina State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting. She taught first grade at St. Bernard School in Bradford, PA, as part of the Villa Maria College Cadet Program. She was as a partner and business manager with the Marcian Bouchard Advertising firm in Erie, PA, was an accountant and program manager with the North Carolina State University College of Textiles, and most recently, was a fiscal specialist with the Mid-East Commission in Washington, NC. She was also active in the Erie County League of Women Voters and a member of the Lake Erie Basin Commission. She was an avid reader and loved sailing. Mrs. Bouchard was a member of the Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Washington, NC.
Survivors include her husband, Marcian L. Bouchard of the home, one son, Marc Bouchard and wife Hallie of Durham, NC; one daughter, Suzette Davis and husband Joe of Tualatin, OR; three grandsons, Jason, Evan and Liam Davis of Tualatin, OR; one sister, Virginia Rocheleau of San Diego, CA; and two brothers, Peter McCoy III of Bradford, PA and Michael McCoy and wife Diane of Mayville, NY. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Janice McCarthy.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Jim “Catfish” Hunter Chapter of the ALS Association, 120-101 Penmarc Dr., Raleigh, NC 27603.
