Mr. Melvin “Mel” Thomas Hardy Sr., 44, of Oriental, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Pungo District Hospital in Belhaven. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Oriental United Methodist Church with the Revs. Keith Sexton and Wesley Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Bryant Funeral Home &Cremations in Alliance.
