Mrs. Lenell Crisp Roberson, age 81, a resident of 3581 Cherry Run Road, Washington, died Tuesday evening November 24, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday November 28, 2009 at Snowd Branch Church of God, officiated by Rev. Marion Hammonds and Rev. Thomas Lee. Burial will follow in the Snowd Branch Church Cemetery. Dwain Edwards, Allen Manning, John Rossie, Jay Bishop, Scotty Harding and Hank McClenney will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Roberson was born April 1, 1928, daughter of the late William Ashley Crisp and Rebecca Warren Crisp. On September 9, 1946, she married James Harvey Roberson who preceded her in death on December 12, 1997. She was owner/operator of Roberson’s Ceramics and also was the ceramics instructor for Beaufort Community College out of the home. She was a member of Snowd Branch Church of God.
She is survived by her three daughters: Mary Kendrick of Newport, Lydell Bishop and her husband, Jay of Yeatesville and LaJena Roberson of Washington and her son: Willie Roberson and his wife, Wanda of the Pactolus Community; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son: James Harvey Roberson, Jr. in 1951; four brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Friday November 27, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home in Washington.
