Mrs. Estelle Jones Woolard, age 84, a resident of 225 Betsy Elbow Rd., Washington, died Sunday, November 29, 2009.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Alligood Church of God and will be conducted by Rev. Phillip Jethro. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Timmy Alligood, Richie Alligood, Danny Woolard, Bill Woolard, Billy Ray Woolard and Troy Woolard will serve as pallbearers. Donald Ray Woolard, Milton Gray Woolard and Gene Woolard will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on August 28, 1925 to the late Ernest and Minnie Parrott Jones. On September 17, 1945 she married Richard Lidway Woolard who preceded her in death on May 1, 1979. She retired from Hamilton Beach on August 30, 1985 as a mixer line assembly operator. Mrs. Woolard was a member of Alligood Church of God.
Survivors include three daughters, Kay Woolard Johnson and husband Marlowe, Brenda Woolard Alligood and husband Ray, Becky Sue Woolard; two sons, Richard Allen Woolard and wife Linda, Johnnie Gray Woolard and wife Sandra all of Washington; one brother, Earl Jones of Florida; two sisters, Faye Sloan of Bracey, Virginia and Elizabeth Sheppard of Washington, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Haywood Jones and five sisters, Louise Roberts, Bessie Mae Ward, Mildred Stallings, Gladys Engles and Gertrude Hogg.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Alligood Church of God and other times at the home, 225 Betsy Elbow Road, Washington.
