Mrs. Hilda Hodges Pugh, age 94, formerly of Belhaven, passed away Friday, December 4, 2009.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 7, 2009 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven, conducted by Rev. H.P. Norman. Interment will be held at a later date. Dan Gibbs, Jr., Ronald Pugh, David Price, Allen Pugh, Walter O’Neal III and Rich Robinson will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Pugh was born in Hyde County on September 3, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Hodges and Corine Mason Hodges Bateman. Mrs. Pugh was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sidney Free Will Baptist Church.
On June 22, 1932, Mrs. Pugh married Clinton Noville Pugh, who preceded her in death in 1975.
Survivors include one daughter, Lynette Pugh Sawyer and her husband, Howard of Belhaven; two sons, Ronald Clinton Pugh and his wife, Margaret of Stantonsburg, N.C., Tony Lee Pugh and his wife, Janice of Engelhard; one sister, Catherine O’Neal of Belhaven; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Pugh was preceded in death by a daughter, Mable Jean Gibbs and one brother, James Hodges.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven.
