Mr. Harold Roberson “Robbie” Jones, Jr., age 54, a resident of West 5th Street, Washington, NC died Monday December 7, 2009 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday December 10, 2009 at the Harding Family Cemetery in Chocowinity officiated by John Anderson. Pallbearers will be Mike Barr, Chris Jones, Carlton Walls, Henry Harding, Kelvin Harding and Gabe Grissom. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Grissom, Plum Walls, Billy Edwards and Roland Cox.
Robbie was born in Beaufort County on October 15, 1955 son of the late Harold Roberson Jones, Sr. and the late Lois Faye Moore Jones. He was a 1973 graduate of Chocowinity High School and married the former Katie Sue Harding on September 15, 1978 who survives. He attended Beaufort County Community College. Robbie was currently an Optical Lab Technician having worked at Eastern Optical and currently working with Washington Eye Clinic. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Haw Branch Church of Christ.
Robbie’s family would like to offer their appreciation to associates at Leo Jenkins Cancer Center of Greenville: Dr. Emmanuel Zervos, Dr. Prashant Atluri, Dr. Suzanne Russo, Beverly Cratch, Mindy Friday, Kathie Bennett and Denise Briggman. They would like to thank extended family: Stacy McConville, Kelly Hewitt and Sandra Bright for their support.
Surviving along with his wife Katie of the home is a son: George Roberson Jones of Chocowinity; a sister: Jennifer “Jenny” Jones of Chocowinity; a brother: Marty Jones of Chocowinity and his mother-in-law: Bertha Harding of Chocowinity.
The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday December 9, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home of his son George located at 984 Harding Lane, Chocowinity, NC.
Flowers are welcome and appreciated and the family kindly asks, any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
