A Beaufort County Schools school bus was involved in an accident shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Broad Creek Road and River Road.
State troopers with the N.C. Highway Patrol, as well as firefighters with the Bunyan Volunteer Fire Department and EMTs with Broad Creek EMS responded to the scene. Officials reported that no one involved in the accident, including eight school-aged children on the bus, needed medical treatment.
A small SUV ran into the back of school bus No. 266, which was picking up students at the time of the accident and had its lights flashing. The school bus was on its way to John Cotten Tayloe Elementery School.
