Lan Blackwell, 63, of Kinston, formerly of Charlotte, passed away Monday night, February 1, at home, after an extended illness.
A native of Goldsboro NC, he was the son of the late Lee and Rosalind Blackwell. Lan received his BA degree from East Carolina University and his MBA from Central Michigan University. He retired from BASF, Inc.in Charlotte, NC, in 2006.
He is survived by his sister, Rose Paul Blackwell of Kinston and by cousins Lewis Paul of Atlanta, GA; Dan Paul, Jr. of Pantego, NC; Dorothy Carter and husband Fred of Flowery Branch, GA; Willa Miller and husband Kim of Lafayette, LA.
The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 5, at Oakdale Cemetery, North Bonner Street, Washington NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lenoir County SPCA, P.O. Box 1481, Kinston, NC, 28503.
