Mr. Kenneth Leroy “Bunk” Sadler, Sr., age 74, a resident of 950 Stilley Town Road, Blounts Creek, NC died Sunday February 7, 2010 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday February 11, 2010 at Edward Christian Church officiated by Pastor David Linton. Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery. Danny Taylor, Eddie Congleton, Andy Dixon, Archie Brantley, Doug Neithammer and Gene Williamson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Burton Gray, Billy Bonner, Bill Parker, Earl Bonner, Wayne Sawyer, Charlie Cutler and Danny Mixon.
Mr. Bunk was born in Beaufort County on March 20, 1935 son of the late Becton Lee Sadler and the late Bertha Congleton Sadler. He attended Washington High School and Edwards Military Academy. Mr. Bunk married the former Helen Marie Scott on February 19, 1955 who survives. He was a member of Edward Christian Church and a true Tar Heel fan. GO HEELS!
Surviving along with his wife Helen of the home are a daughter: Delores S. Williams and her husband Steve of New Bern; a son: Kenneth “Ken” Leroy Sadler, Jr. and his wife Donna of Blounts Creek; three grandchildren: Shannon Smith and Suzanne Smith both of Raleigh and Kendall Sadler of Blounts Creek; a great grandson: Aubin Jamison Sadler of Blounts Creek and a nephew Larry Sadler of Myrtle Beach.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m. Thursday until the funeral hour at Edward Christian Church and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorials in Mr. Bunks’ honor be made to Edward Christian Church, 23 Academy Street, Edward, NC 27821; Ascera Care Hospice, P.O.
