F. Ray and Theresa Moore have been selected as the 2010 Distinguished Citizens for the Blackbeard District, East Carolina Council, Boy Scouts of America.
The Distinguished Citizens Award is bestowed annually to people who, in the spirit of Scouting, unselfishly support youth in their physical, mental and spiritual development so they may be constructive members of society.
They will be honored at a reception at the Turnage Theater on March 25. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America.
Recently, the Moores, members of the First Christian Church in Washington, assisted Troop 21 Scouts and Sam Fulmer, warehouse manager for Eagle’s Wings food pantry, organize a Scouting for Food campaign. The food collected by the drive was given to Eagle’s Wings.
The public may purchase tickets to the banquet by calling 252-945-2467.
