Mr. Jeffrey Hodges Byrd, age 47, a former resident of the Clayton-Garner area died Tuesday February 9, 2010 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington officiated by Levi Cichorz. Members of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity will serve as pallbearers.
Jeffrey was born in Louisburg, NC on January 12, 1963, son of Jimmy and Doris Byrd. He attended the University of North Carolina and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He was employed as a landscaper.
Jeffrey is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Doris Byrd of Greenville; his children: Zachery Samuel Byrd and Trevor James Byrd of Raleigh; the mother of his children, Sharon Byrd of Raleigh; his brother: James Gregory Byrd and wife, Kaycee of Bryn Mawr, PA and their children, Rachel and Ryan as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by a sister, LuAnn Byrd.
The family will receive friends at the home of his parents, Jimmy and Doris Byrd, 215 Woodstock Drive, Greenville.
