Mr. Robert Clay Lewis, age 74, a resident of 154 Telephone Lane, Pinetown died Wednesday February 24, 2010.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday February 26, 2010 at Edward Cemetery officiated by Rev. David Linton.
Mr. Lewis was born in Pitt County on May 5, 1935, son of the late Herbert Lewis and Belva Clark Lewis. On May 5, 1959, he married the former Carolyn Lewis who survives. He served his country in the Armed Forces. Mr. Lewis was employed by Flanders Filters and Roberson Beverage.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn Lewis of the home, he is survived by his sons: Allen Lewis and wife, Frances of Pinetown, Timmy Lewis and Major Lewis both of Pinetown; his brothers: Roland Lewis and Donald Lewis both of Tennessee; his sisters: Edna Banks of New Bern, Frances Wadell of SC, Ann Holbert and Margie Cahoon both of Fayetteville and Jean Haddock of Charlotte and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, James Thomas Lewis.
The family will receive friends 11-12:30 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home located at 154 Telephone Lane, Pinetown.
