Charity Watson and Tiffany Frey are having solid seasons with the Pitt Community College Bulldogs.
Watson, a former star at Washington High School, is a freshman pitcher.
She is 11-4 with a 0.51 ERA this season. Watson has fanned 188 and walked 60 in 110 innings. She has allowed just 25 hits in 21 games.
Frey, a former standout at Jamesville High School, is a sophomore infielder/outfielder.
She is hitting .200 (8 for 40) this season. One of her hits went for a triple. She has scored 13 runs and has five RBIs.
AMANDA BEIRNE
Amanda Beirne, a former star at Northside High school, is playing at Meredith.
Beirne is 3-2 with a 1.43 ERA this season. The freshman has fanned 35 and walked 11 in 29 1/3 innings.
She was named the USA South Conference Rookie Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 for the Avenging Angels. In a 9-0 win over Shaw, Beirne tossed five innings and allowed no runs on just one hit with 12 strikeouts. In a 5-3 victory over Randolph, Beirne pitched six shutout innings and allowed four hits with one walk and six strikeouts.
Beirne is hitting .083 (1 for 12). Beirne has scored one run.
MEREDITH KNOX
Meredith Knox has had knocking the softball around once again this season.
Knox, a former standout at Washington High School, is playing with the Anderson Trojans.
Knox is hitting .361 with five home runs and 18 RBIs. The senior has four doubles and one triple among her 22 hits. Knox has scored a team-high 23 runs and stolen four bases.
NICOLE JORDAN
Nicole Jordan, a former star at Jamesville High School, is playing with the East Carolina Lady Pirates.
Jordan is hitting .125 (1 for 8) this season. The senior has scored one run.
BRINKLEY JOHNSON
Brinkley Johnson, a former standout at Pungo, is playing at Pfeiffer.
The freshman is 0 for 1 with two runs scored this season. She has one stolen base and four putouts.
DONECIA EBRON
Donecia Ebron, a former standout at Northside High School, is playing at Fayetteville.
Ebron is hitting .208 (5 for 24) on the season. She has hit one triple, driven in four and scored three runs.
COLLEGE BASEBALL
TRENT WHITEHEAD
Trent Whitehead, a former star at Washington High School, is playing at East Carolina.
The junior leadoff batter is hitting .264 with six RBIs. Whitehead has two doubles among his 14 hits. Whitehead has scored five runs and has one stolen base.
STYRON BARFIELD
Styron Barfield, a former standout at Williamston High School, is playing at Elizabeth City State University.
Barfield is 0-2 with a 5.66 ERA this year. He has fanned 14 and walked 10 in 20 2/3 innings.
BRANDON THOMAS
Brandon Thomas, a former standout at Washington High School, is playing with the College of Albemarle Dolphins.
Thomas has pitched one inning of hitless ball. He has also played some at first base, and is 0 for 1 at the plate.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL
COR-J COX
Cor-J Cox, a former standout at Washington High School, is playing at Mississippi Valley State.
Cox averaged 4.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.
DAMIEN WILKINS
Damien Wilkins, a Washington native, is playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Wilkins is averaging 5.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals per game.

ELTON COFFIELD
Elton Coffield, a former standout at Williamston High School, is playing for the BSW Sixers in Germany.
Coffield is averaging 19.6 points, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
JOSEPH BARBER
Joseph Barber, a former standout at Terra Ceia, is playing for CS Energia Rovinari in Romania.
Barber is averaging 7.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.4 steals per game.
