Margaret Keech Ambrose, of 14711 U.S. 264 East Pinetown, N.C. died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Beaufort County Medical Center. Mrs. Margaret was a Beaufort County native, growing up in the Free Union Community, and lived most of her adult life in the Hunter’s Bridge Community. She was born February 16, 1931, the daughter of Roy and Gladys Keech. In addition to her parents, her husband, Harrison Ambrose and her younger sister, Marilyn K. Smith, preceded her in death. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt who found satisfaction giving of herself to her family and friends. She was the owner and operator of Margaret’s Ceramic and Doll Shop at Hunter’s Bridge.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington, N.C., conducted by Rev. Curtis White and Bud Ball. Jay Evans, Skylar Tankard, Kevin Clemmer, Tolan Raynor, Donnie Keech, Curt Smith, Dale Latham, C.L. Carr and Perry Keech will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at Mrs. Ambrose’s home, 14711 U.S. Highway 264 East, Pinetown.
Survivors include a son, L. Gaylon Ambrose and wife, Carolyn of Bath, N.C.; daughters, Sandra A. Tankard and husband Wayne of Bath, N.C. and Lisa A. Davis and husband, Walt of Winterville, N.C.; brother, Grady Keech of Sans Souci, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jay Evans and Margery A. Clemmer of Raleigh; Skylar Tankard of Bath, Roxanne T. Raynor of Burlington, Kilby and Paige Davis of Winterville and four great grandchildren.
Flowers are welcome and appreciated or any memorial contributions may be made to the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, N.C. 27889.
