Mrs. Frances Arline Sawyer Kirk, age 88, a resident of 382 Loop Road, Belhaven, went to be with her Savior, Friday, March 26, 2010 at Pungo District Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 29, 2010 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Rev. Medford Hopkins officiating. A Service of Committal will follow at Ryder Hill Cemetery in the Pamlico Beach Community.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC.
Mrs. Kirk was born in Beaufort County on April 23, 1921 to Alonzo and Mary Williams Sawyer. On May 15, 1938 she married David LeRoy “Roy” Kirk who survives. Arline was a homemaker and a member of Belhaven Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Ladies Ministry of the church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Frances K. Force of Washington, Connie K. Respess of Chocowinity, Lois K. Tooley of Plymouth and Judy K. Hooten, Rita K. Rose, and Carolyn K. Cornelius all of Belhaven, her son, Oral Wayne Kirk of Washington, 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son David Herman Kirk and all eight of her siblings.
