Mr. Hugh Millard Martin Jr., 55, of 1876 Wheat Patch Road, Belhaven, N.C., died Monday, March 29, 2010, at his home.
A memorial service will be conducted Friday, April 2, 2010, at 2 p.m. in Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie Parker and the Rev. Johnny Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.
Mr. Martin was born in Martin County on Oct. 29, 1954. He was the son of Celia Gardner Martin and the late Hugh M. Martin. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He had retired after 30 years as a judicial hearing officer with the N.C. Department of Correction.
Survivors include his mother, Celia G. Martin of Williamston; brother, Robert E. Martin of Williamston; sister, Myra M. Dymock and husband J.D. of Winterville; nieces, Alexis DeGrasse, Taylor DeGrasse and Leslie Dymock and nephew, Andy Dymock.
Hugh was a loving uncle and a devoted friend, and will be missed dearly by his friends, family, and two beloved cats, Sugar &Bear.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home of Celia Martin.
